Zagora is a city in Morocco located in the Drâa-Tafilalet region in southern Morocco. There
new town of Zagora dates from the French protectorate of which it was one of the administrative centers.
However, the oasis, capital of the Drâa region, had been inhabited for much longer,
since it is from there that the expedition of the Saadians (Arab tribes) left for Timbuktu in
1591.
A famous sign in the center of the city says Timbuktu 52 days (while it took 135
to the Saadian army to achieve this).
Zagora is dominated by the Jebel Zagora, and has a vast palm grove. She is the point of
departure of numerous hikes towards countless oases of the Drâa valley as well as towards
the desert of Sahara. It is also known for its numerous Kasbahs.
You will have the opportunity to discover it with our overnight excursion in a bivouac at the start
