Comprehensive Five-Day Desert Expedition
Day 1: Marrakech, Imlil, Sidi Chamharouch to Toubkal Refuge
Embark on the first day of our five-day Marrakech to Fes desert tour. Begin your adventure in
the heart of the High Atlas Mountains, departing from Imlil. The trip starts at Imlil, a sizable
Berber village 65km south of Marrakech. After reaching the village, meet your guide and
muleteers who will handle luggage, food, and other necessities. A 30-minute journey with an
experienced mountain guide leads you to the Berber village. Enjoy a picnic lunch at the
mountain hut near the shrine of Sidi Chamharouch at 2,500m. After a short break, continue your
journey to the refuge at 3,200m.
Day 2: Toubkal Refuge , Summit to Return to Imlil
Awake early to avoid the sun’s heat, starting the climb by 5.30am after breakfast. Ascend to a
point above the hut for a short break before enjoying panoramic views of the High Atlas
Mountains and Berber villages. After a 45-minute break at the summit, descend to the hut for
lunch, followed by a return to Imlil. Spend the night with a Berber family, experiencing dinner
and breakfast (private bath suite provided).
Day 3: Imlil , Ait Benhaddou , Rose Valley to Dades Gorge
On the third day, depart from Imlil at 8 am, traveling through the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass at 2,260m—
the highest road pass in Morocco. Marvel at the natural beauty, small Berber villages, and the
UNESCO World Heritage Site at Ait Benhaddou. Continue through the Road of One Thousand
Kasbahs, Skoura oasis, Valley of Roses, Tamlalt Hills, and arrive at Dades Gorge. Spend the

Day 4: Dades Gorge, Todra Gorge, Tinjdad , Merzouga to Erg Chebbi

Merzouga. Embark on a 2-hour camel journey through the desert to reach the desert camp at Erg

Day 5: Erg Chebbi, Merzouga , Erfoud , Midelt , Fez
